Frequently Asked Questions

What is iVisitDoc?

iVisitDoc is a telehealth platform that connects patients with licensed medical providers for convenient online visits. We make quality healthcare accessible, affordable, and secure—whether you need a routine consultation, prescription refill, or guidance on managing a condition.

Unlike traditional clinics, you can see a provider from home and, in many cases, have prescriptions sent directly to your preferred pharmacy.

What’s included in my iVisitDoc care?

With iVisitDoc, you can access licensed healthcare professionals online for personalized consultations, treatment plans, and ongoing support — all focused on your specific health goals. Our providers help manage common and chronic conditions, prescribe medications when appropriate, and ensure continuity of care with your insurance network.

Does iVisitDoc offer a membership program?

We’re working on introducing a membership program soon! For now, you can book visits as needed and still enjoy comprehensive, personalized care through our licensed medical providers.

I’m not a member. Can I still get care?

Absolutely! You don’t need a membership to get started. Simply schedule a visit through iVisitDoc and we’ll connect you with a licensed healthcare provider for your consultation.

How does iVisitDoc work with my insurance?

iVisitDoc partners with many insurance providers to help reduce your out-of-pocket costs. During sign-up, you can enter your insurance details so we can confirm eligibility and coverage before your appointment. If you’re uninsured, we also offer transparent, self-pay options.

Why is there a visit fee?

Your visit fee helps cover the cost of licensed medical providers, administrative support, and technology that enables secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth experiences. We’re committed to keeping care affordable and accessible for everyone.

Does iVisitDoc accept insurance? Is it an insurance plan?

iVisitDoc is not an insurance plan. However, we work with many major insurance providers to help you apply your coverage toward the cost of care whenever possible.

How do I get care with iVisitDoc?

You can easily start your visit by creating an iVisitDoc account, choosing your concern or goal, and booking a consultation. Our providers review your case, offer treatment options, and prescribe medication if medically appropriate.

Does iVisitDoc offer pediatric care for children?

Currently, iVisitDoc provides care for adults (18+) only. Pediatric services are in development and will be available soon.

I’m 65+ and on Medicare. Does iVisitDoc work with Medicare?

Yes! Many iVisitDoc services are covered by Medicare. Enter your Medicare details when booking your appointment, and we’ll help confirm your coverage before your visit.

I only have Medicaid. Can I receive care from iVisitDoc?

We’re expanding our network to include more Medicaid plans. Some services may already be available depending on your state and plan — check eligibility during booking or contact our support team for assistance.

Can iVisitDoc providers prescribe medication for my condition?

Yes, if it’s medically appropriate. Our licensed providers can prescribe medications for most conditions. However, certain controlled substances may require in-person evaluation in accordance with federal and state laws.

I still have questions about iVisitDoc. Who can I talk to?

Our support team is here to help! You can contact us anytime through our website chat or by emailing info@ivisitdoc.com. We’re happy to assist with billing, insurance, or general care questions.

Am I eligible to use iVisitDoc Pay-per-visit?

Yes! Anyone aged 18 or older can use iVisitDoc’s pay-per-visit option. We’re currently available across most U.S. states for a wide range of medical concerns and wellness consultations. You don’t need to be a member or have a subscription to get care.

Do I need to create a new profile if I already used iVisitDoc before?

No — if you already have an iVisitDoc account, you can use it for pay-per-visit care. Simply log in, choose your concern, and start your consultation.

If offered a prescription, how will I receive it?

After your consultation, your provider will send your prescription electronically to your preferred pharmacy. You can select any local or online pharmacy — you’re not required to use a specific one.

Do I need to be a member to use iVisitDoc Pay-per-visit?

Not at all! Pay-per-visit care is open to everyone, whether or not you have an iVisitDoc membership (once available). You only pay for the visits you book — no ongoing commitment required.

Do I need to be an iVisitDoc or partner customer to use Pay-per-visit?

No. Anyone can access iVisitDoc services — even if it’s your first time visiting us.

Can I use my FSA/HSA card to pay for Pay-per-visit?

Yes! Most iVisitDoc visits are eligible for FSA and HSA payment. Just use your FSA/HSA card at checkout to cover your consultation fee.

Can I communicate with a provider after my visit?

Yes. You’ll have access to your provider through your iVisitDoc message center for follow-up questions about your treatment plan.

How do I make changes to the intake form I just submitted?

If you need to update your information after submission, please contact our support team as soon as possible at info@ivisitdoc.com so we can assist you before your provider reviews your case.

What if I want to change my pharmacy after my prescription was sent?

No problem — just message your provider through your iVisitDoc account. They can resend your prescription to a different pharmacy upon request.

What if I want to refill my medication?

If refills are part of your treatment plan, your provider will include them in your prescription. If you need a new prescription, simply log in and schedule a quick follow-up visit.

Does iVisitDoc offer ASL or accessibility options during video visits?

We’re dedicated to inclusive care. If you require ASL interpretation or accessibility support, please contact info@ivisitdoc.com prior to your appointment so we can accommodate your needs.

If my intake form asks for a blood pressure reading, can I measure it at home?

Yes. You can use a home blood pressure monitor to take your reading before your visit. If you don’t have one, your provider can still assess your condition based on your symptoms and medical history.

What reminders will I get for my video call?

You’ll receive email and text reminders before your scheduled video visit. Each reminder includes a secure link to join your session, along with helpful setup instructions to ensure your camera, audio, and connection are ready.

How do I join the video call?

Joining is simple! Click the secure link in your confirmation email or text message. You’ll be taken directly to our encrypted video platform — no app download required. Just make sure you’re in a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection.

Can I cancel my video visit?

Yes. You can cancel or reschedule your visit anytime before your provider joins the session. Log into your iVisitDoc account and navigate to My Appointments to make changes. If you need help, contact info@ivisitdoc.com.

What happens if I miss the video call?

If you miss your scheduled call, your provider will attempt to reconnect within a short grace period. If you’re still unavailable, you may need to book a new appointment. In most cases, missed visits are non-refundable once your provider has set aside time for your consultation.

Does iVisitDoc offer ASL in video visits?

Yes! iVisitDoc is committed to accessible care for all patients. If you require American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, please contact support@ivisitdoc.com before your visit, and we’ll arrange interpreter access.

How does a message-only visit work?

Message-only visits let you consult with a provider asynchronously — no live video required. You’ll answer a few questions about your symptoms or goals, upload photos (if relevant), and your provider will review your case, send a treatment plan, and prescribe medication if appropriate. You’ll receive updates and messages through your iVisitDoc dashboard.

Why can’t I choose a message-only visit?

Message-only visits are available for specific conditions that can be safely evaluated without a live exam. If you don’t see the option, your concern may require a video consultation to ensure the best and safest care.

What kind of telehealth visits can my child have through Pay-per-visit?

iVisitDoc offers virtual visits for common pediatric concerns such as cold and flu symptoms, allergies, skin rashes, minor infections, behavioral health screenings, and general wellness consultations. Our licensed providers are trained to deliver safe, child-focused care online and will recommend in-person follow-up if needed.

How do I get care for my child?

Simply log in to your iVisitDoc account and select “Book a Visit for My Child.” You’ll be guided through a short intake form to describe your child’s symptoms. Then, you can connect with a licensed pediatric provider through a secure video visit or message-only consultation (where available).

Can I get care for multiple children?

Yes. You can register and manage care for each child under your iVisitDoc parent account. Each child will have a separate medical record to ensure privacy and personalized treatment.

Can my child access care on their own?

Children under 18 cannot independently create an iVisitDoc account or access care without a parent or guardian. A parent or legal guardian must complete registration and participate in the visit as required by state telehealth laws.

Do I need to be present during my child's virtual visit?

For most visits, yes. A parent or legal guardian must be present at the start of the appointment to provide consent and help answer medical history questions. Your provider will let you know if your presence is required for the entire visit.

How much do child visits cost?

Child visits are billed at the same transparent rate as adult pay-per-visit appointments. Costs may vary based on insurance coverage and the type of visit (video or message-only). You’ll see pricing before confirming your booking.

What type of healthcare provider will treat my child?

Your child will be seen by a licensed pediatrician, family medicine doctor, or nurse practitioner experienced in treating children. Each provider is credentialed and trained in virtual care best practices.

How do I know my child’s health is being evaluated seriously?

Every iVisitDoc provider follows evidence-based pediatric guidelines and uses secure technology to deliver accurate assessments. If a physical exam or lab test is needed, your provider will refer you to an in-person clinic or your child’s primary care doctor for follow-up.

Can I get a doctor’s note for my child?

Yes. If medically appropriate, your provider can issue a doctor’s note for school, daycare, or sports absences directly after the visit. You can download it securely from your iVisitDoc dashboard.

Where can I find my iVisitDoc provider’s credentials?

You can view your provider’s credentials directly in your iVisitDoc visit summary or within your provider profile after your appointment. We believe in full transparency — every clinician on our platform is verified, licensed in the state where you receive care, and experienced in telemedicine.

Where are iVisitDoc providers located?

Our providers are located across the United States and are licensed to treat patients in specific states. You’ll always be matched with a provider who’s legally authorized to deliver care in the state where you’re physically located during your visit.

How does iVisitDoc ensure quality and privacy?

All telehealth visits are conducted through HIPAA-compliant platforms. Providers undergo ongoing training to maintain high standards of medical care and data security.

Will my Pay-per-visit provider need information from my primary care provider?

Sometimes. If your case involves ongoing treatment, medications, or chronic conditions, your iVisitDoc provider may request background information from your primary care provider to ensure continuity and safety. You’ll always be asked for consent before any information is shared.

Can my Pay-per-visit provider send my treatment plan to my primary care provider?

Yes! At your request, your iVisitDoc provider can securely send your visit summary and treatment plan to your primary care provider or another specialist. This helps keep your care team informed and coordinated.

How do you ensure clinical quality?

iVisitDoc upholds strict quality standards. Every provider undergoes credential verification, ongoing peer review, and quality assurance audits. Our technology supports evidence-based care protocols, privacy protection, and consistent medical outcomes across every visit.

What happens if my provider can’t diagnose or treat my health issue through Pay-per-visit?

If your provider determines that your condition needs in-person evaluation or specialized testing, they’ll explain why and guide you on next steps. You may be referred to your primary care provider, urgent care, or a local specialist for follow-up.

Can I get a prescription for controlled substances through Pay-per-visit?

No. iVisitDoc providers cannot prescribe controlled substances (such as opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants) through telehealth visits, in compliance with federal and state laws. If your condition requires such medication, your provider may refer you for in-person evaluation.

How can I pay for iVisitDoc Pay-per-visit and any prescribed medication?

You can pay for your iVisitDoc visit using a credit card, debit card, FSA, or HSA card. The visit fee covers your consultation with a licensed provider and any follow-up messaging related to that visit.
Prescriptions are billed separately by your chosen pharmacy. If your insurance covers the prescribed medication, your pharmacy will apply that coverage at checkout.

Can I use Pay-per-visit if I am a beneficiary of a government-sponsored healthcare program (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, CHAMPVA)?

Yes — in many cases. iVisitDoc works with a growing list of government-sponsored programs including Medicare and some Medicaid plans. Coverage depends on your plan and state. If your plan isn’t yet supported, you can still use iVisitDoc as a self-pay patient.

When will you charge my payment method for Pay-per-visit?

Your payment method will be charged once your visit is submitted and accepted by a provider. This ensures your payment is processed only when your case is reviewed and your visit officially begins.

What should I do if my payment method has been declined?

If your payment fails, please double-check your card details or try an alternate form of payment. You can also contact your bank to confirm authorization for healthcare charges. If the issue persists, reach out to info@ivisitdoc.com for help resolving payment issues.

My health insurance has changed. Where can I learn more about my options for affordable coverage?

If your insurance has changed, you can update your coverage directly in your iVisitDoc account before your next visit. We also partner with healthcare advisors who can guide you toward affordable insurance options that fit your needs and help you stay covered for future care.
